Sharon Elaine (Close) Babcock

The memorial services celebrating and honoring the life of Sharon Elaine (Close) Babcock, 75, will be on Saturday, Dec. 30 at 3 p.m. at World Harvest Church, 1417 S. Garland Rd, Enid, OK.

Sharon was born August 7, 1948, to Ivor Burdette and Margaret Adeline (Conner) Close in Enid, Oklahoma and passed from this life December 22, 2023, in Enid, Oklahoma.

She was raised and educated in Enid, Oklahoma graduating from Enid High School. She then achieved her BSN from Northwestern Oklahoma State University. She married Rodney B. Babcock in Woodward, Oklahoma and from this union came five children, Robert, Shannon, Weslie, Zack, and Sarah. Sharon worked as a Registered Nurse for many years.

Sharon loved God and blessed numerous people with cooking meals, hospitality, kind words, praise, and worship. She was an avid sports fan. She loved and cared for her grandchildren deeply. 

She is survived by her five children, Robert and Colene Babcock of Frederick, Oklahoma, Shannon and Gerardo Cavazos, of Brownsville, Texas, Weslie White, Zack and Effie Babcock, and Sarah Cobb, all of Enid, Oklahoma; twenty-five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; one brother Steven and Debbie Close, of Amarillo, Texas; one sister Shannon and Dan McPartland, of Wichita, Kansas; one niece; and one nephew.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rodney Babcock, her parents Ivor and Margaret Close; and one granddaughter Karisma Taylor.
