The memorial service for Ginger Renee Bond, 56, of Lahoma will be10:00 a.m., Friday, August 22, 2014, at United Church of Lahoma, Lahoma, OK. She was born on August 13, 1958 to Myrle and Naomi Holloway. She departed from this life at home to be with her Savior after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer on August 15, 2014, at the age of 56. She was raised in many different locations in her childhood as her father was an officer in the Navy. She spent a great deal of her childhood in Sasebo, Japan and made many lifelong friends from Japan and the naval base. Her family finally settled in Mooreland, OK after Myrle retired from the Navy, and Ginger graduated from Mooreland High School in 1976. Ginger spent the early part of her adult life being her kids’ mom. Upon her children reaching school age she began her career at Integris Bass Hospital in Enid, OK. Ginger worked at Integris until she retired in April 2014. She was married to Mike Bond on August 8, 2008, and they made their home out on the “farm” south of Lahoma, OK. Mike was a loving husband and cared for her selflessly to the end. This union brought together a family of 9 children and currently 12 grandchildren. Ginger loved life! When she wasn’t working her job she was helping a family member with a craft project, and she enjoyed making personalized gifts for those special occasions. She also served as the Vice President of the Women’s Circle at her church, and was the photographer for Vacation Bible School. Ginger and Mike made crafts in their spare time and spent many of days selling their creations at the local craft shows. Her happiest moments though, were when all her kids and grandkids were at home for the holidays or some family event. She is survived by her Husband Mike Bond, and sister Brenda DePriest of Portsmouth, VA, her son Gary Lyon and wife Misty of Enid, OK,son Doug Lyon of Edmond, Ok, son Derek Broadbent and Wife Tennille of Leedey, OK, daughter Tara Hannaford and Husband Bo of Alva, OK, son Levi Bond and wife Marie of Garber, OK, daughter Sabrina Bergdall and Husband Kody of Lahoma, OK, son Brady Bond of Garber, OK, daughter Katie Lyon of Chickasha, OK, and son Cody Bond of Garber, OK. She is also survived by her grandchildren which she truly adored; Camron Lyon and Carmen Lyon, Kelsee Berdgall and Gavin Bergdall , Gunner Gill, Dallas Gill, Mariah Gill, and Ellie Broadbent, Carson and Tucker Hannaford, Kaylin and Jake Bond. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, two brothers, William Holloway, and Calvin Holloway, and a sister Deanna Sober. I knew Ginger when she was a beautiful teenaged girl . I was classmates with her in Sasebo, Japan. I see that her organizational skills that was blossoming back then came to full fruition in her career, as a Mother and Grandmother, wife and as a selfless volunteer for so many worthwhile causes.

I admired her then, I admire her now. I pray for you all, her most beloved family. May God's Peace embrace you all. May we always remeber and celebrate the beautiful woman that Ginger was and look forward to seeing her again at the final Great Reunion.

Mike,
I am so sorry to hear about Ginger. Just wanted to let you know I am thinking about you and praying you will find peace, comfort and strength in the weeks ahead.
Our families go back longer than we've been born....a lot of great memories with your Grandpa Gib and my Daddy, Fred. Those two together were quite a pair!!
How did your Grandma and my Mom ever survive.

Hugs and love,
Kathy

I met Ginger and her sister Brenda long ago in a far away land...Japan. We were classmates and a very tight knit group. She was naturally very popular with all her school mates and will be remembered by everyone for her wonderful welcoming smile. We were fortunate to meet again later in life at a reunion back in 2006. I was amazed at how little she had changed over the years...still the same wonderful, sincere, and caring person as I'm sure all can attest to. This world is a colder place now that she has departed. Hopefully your family and all her friends can find comfort knowing we were blessed to call "Shoga-san"/Ginger our life-long friend. Sayonara Shoga-san...RIP dear friend.

Sending Ginger's family all of my love and support in this very tough time. I worked with Ginger for 20 years and thought the world of her. She was very kind, conscientious, and thoughtful to our patients, co-workers, and physicians. She was very smart and capable of some very complex assignments. I know how much she loved her family and how proud she was of their accomplishments. We all will miss her very much.

Ginger was my husband Milton Holloway's cousin. So sorry to hear about her passing. We lived so far away that we didn't know each other well. We saw her when we visited Oklahoma but that was when she was small. Some day we will all be reunited in heaven and will become great friends. Thinking and praying for your family.
